, maize groundnuts at relative cheaper
*_Which vehicle can carry more bags of cassava, maize, groundnuts, corn, or cassava dough (agblema), all at relative cheaper cost — the aeroplane or the locomotive train?… Mansa Musa writes ✍️_*
Mahama and the NDC’s “Big Push” programme, which is currently focused mainly on transforming the country’s road network from its deplorable and primitive state into a modern 21st-century standard, is highly commendable. We must all, in our various ways, offer our help and support to ensure the success of this programme.
*That said, this government, through the Transport Ministry and its allied sectors, must, as a matter of urgency, begin focusing seriously on building a nationwide railway network. Commuter and goods-carrying locomotive trains will represent one of the most comprehensive backbones of the national transport system.*
A massive railway network across the country will not only augment road haulage and passenger transportation systems, but will also likely boost and accelerate economic growth much faster and more efficiently than aeroplanes do. This is an area the Mahama administration should begin prioritising and focusing on seriously.
*Airports are good, but nothing beats the train. Ask every industrialised and developed country. I rest my case.*
