Big Push – Accra-Kumasi Expressway in Progress
Ladies and gentlemen, the preparatory, auxiliary, and enabling works ahead of the actual Accra-Kumasi Expressway construction are currently being carried out by an institution that is highly capable of handling that phase of the project — the Ghana Army Corps.
The army is more than capable of executing this task because the military structure does not consist only of combat or shooting units. It also includes transport units, mechanical and engineering units, driver and logistics units, and, most importantly, the Field Engineers Regiment.
In wartime operations, this field engineering unit builds roads, bridges, and other infrastructure necessary for combat and military activities. Therefore, for a high-ranking NPP political spokesperson not to know that army personnel are capable of clearing forest areas to pave the way for the actual road construction to begin is quite surprising.
Moreover, considering that the army’s participation will go a long way in reducing costs, this should not even become a bone of contention, should it?
How did NPP’s Paul Yandoh rise to the higher echelons of the party without understanding this basic fact? Does this NPP really have the men?
Now you can understand how chaff and other dirty impurities get mixed with the real substance in our body politic and even in government.
