This is not meant to be a partisan criticism.
When I hear on radio broadcasts or see public officials on TV, politicians from all sides happily proclaiming how foreign aid finances our public services, education, health, and security, it strikes me deeply. We depend on foreign cheques for our institutions to exist, let alone survive. For Black Africans, whose lands and environment are far more endowed by nature than those of our benefactors, to rely on the “goodwill” of outsiders just to stay in existence… this should make us all sick.
